Oh look, a blog.

Why does this site need a blog?

jacobbijani:

A support email inspired me to whip this pHome.us theme up. It only shows the links that have been updated, and nothing else.

Download it here, and then paste it in the custom HTML box here.

I think pHome.us is the perfect mixture of RSS feeds and static bookmarks, so I don’t exactly find the links disappearing all that useful. I mostly just did this for funzies, and because I could.

The “open in new window” feature now works in all public themes. This was one of those bugs that was a lot more complex to fix than it seems.

If you have a customized theme, email support@phome.us and we can update it to the new system for you!

Sweet new theme on pHome.us. It’s called Delta Junction and was heavily inspired by a customized theme by Jon Kyle.

We’re now using the rounded rectangle buttons that first appeared in the new link manager throughout the site. It’s the little things. The old pill-style ones never displayed properly in Firefox, anyway.

What we’re working on

I wanted to share some things we are working on that you will be seeing very soon.

One of the beauties of pHome.us is that it doesn’t impose restrictions on how your homepage can be displayed to you. Generally your links are displayed as regular text links, but this is only a per-theme decision. Peter is working on a theme that revolves around site thumbnails, which will be available soon. Users will also be able to use thumbnails in their own themes soon too.

Depending on what browser you use, you may notice some oddities in the color pickers. I’ve finally settled on a color picker that works great, but it still needs some tweaks to make it work how I want it to. The major issue with this right now is that the color picker displays outside the bookmarklet, making it unusable.

Lastly, we’ve noticed a surprising amount of international users already. Both the bookmarklet and link importer handle international characters, but the link manager does not. This should be fixed soon as well.

The new bookmarklet is live on pHome.us. It’s much more visually efficient.

I’ve used two different color pickers on pHome.us before discovering mooRainbow.

It’s (obviously) powered by MooTools, and follows the Object-Oriented model pretty well. It’s super easy to customize and extend, I’ve added at least three features to it already.

Highly recommended, if you are looking for a JavaScript color picker…

The new version of the link manager is almost done. Go to pHome.us/links/beta and check it out! There’s a little widget on the side to leave feedback.
